LOL

of course we are - anyone who doesnt learn from history is doomed to repeat it

LOL

We are definately repeating history - but it doesnt have anything to do with jimmy carter - its more like hitler

Look at what hitler did and what bush did and tell me you dont think so

Hitler had his parliment building set ablaze, we had the pentagon bombed

Hitler created a security council - we created homeland security

Hitler created his version of a security act law - we created the patriot act

Hitler started wars with other countries - we went into afganistan and iraq

Hitlers money become worthless - ours is on its way

Hitler declared martial law and made himself chancelor - we havent done this yet but believe me - if bush starts a war with Iran I seriously doubt he will not declare martial law and stay in office

SO, yes we are repeating history but not as some people think

As for the euro replacing the dollar - not likely - every country in the world uses the dollar - why - becasue we are gulible enough people to believe we should save everyone.

In all likelihood - the treasury and fed will cook up a scheme to have europe increase thier money supply at the same rate as we increase ours - this will flood the markets with both sets of currency and therefore have minimal impact for the dollar on the market

This will stablize the dollar over the course of a year or two - long enough to create a new currency - the amero - once the amero comes out and the NAU actually comes into being - the next step would be to move to a truly global market and combine the euro and the amero - at that point every country in the world will either have to kowtow down to who owns the countinents or they will cease to exist

the bankers will have won - either by people voluntarily giving in or by conquest - doesnt make a difference - once they have control they will run it all
References :
I'm 45 years old, and this the third time we have been through this weak dollar cycle since I was old enough to vote. As far as comparing to the late '70's under Carter, there is no comparison. Remember we are now at 5% unemployement, compared to 10% during that time( we now measure it a bit different, and it would actually be higher by today's standard) My older sister bought her first house in 1978, and was saddled with a 19% interest rate. The inflation rate was in the double digits, which is too high for an economy to grow. The highest marginal tax rate in 1979 was 72%, compared to 35% today.

Just to add a little positive news, international currency hedge funds are now betting on the dollar to start gaining value very quickly in the next few months, and in fact the value of the dollar has actually gained a little ground in the past couple of weeks. Two years from now, the dollar will once again reign supreme.....history repeats itself once again.
References :
Decode this lyrics " You are not alone"
We all are in the same ship
But we are not sinking and swimming together.
Since the life-belt had been thrown out.
Only have to look at the map.
May be the compass is wrong.
Or we took the wrong turn in stepping through the 'Stargate"
Insread of advancing in time.
We heading back to the twilight zone.
Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49
What do you think?
References :
decoded from the missing x-files.

Somewhat yes.
It is a mix of Carter and Reaganomics.

The worst of both.

It will continue if we "stay the course", good reason to keep McCain out.
References :
You're asking if President Bush is repeating Jimmy Carter's mistakes?

I'm with you on the rising tax and run away government spending thing, but can you even tell me one reason that inflation is bad?

Is there a point somewhere in all of this?
References :
Are we Americans repeating history again??
I mean with our declining dollar, rising taxes, run away government spending, energy costs shooting to the moon, war on terror & the never ending war on drugs plus a host of other maladies are we heading back in time into the Jimmy Carter zone? I mean with a troy ounce of .999 gold worth close to a THOUSAND federal reserve notes, what's next? The euro seems to be gradually positioning itself to replace the FRN as the pick of choice on the global scene. Is there any similarities with the USA's current plight & the plight of the old Roman empire or what?
